Megan Paetzhold is an artist based in New York City. Her practice explores the notions of perception, media, and experience. In 2016 she will be graduating with a BFA in Photography, a BA in Culture & Media and a minor in Museum & Curatorial Studies.
Inspired by one of my personal eye conditions, Amblyopia is a series that uses the science and process of visual perception as a starting point to create photographic abstractions. Using the camera as a tool to harness and manipulate raw perceptual information, unfiltered by the human brain, these images are aesthetic interpretations of my own visual process.
