Hi Stranger Meet Friend

For my project, Hi Stranger Meet Friend, I introduce my friend to a stranger, pose them together and then take their picture. I tell them to shake hands, play with each other’s belongings or let them act naturally. I consider the strangers milling about the city streets to be part of the landscape. When a place is undeniably molded by the jam-packed crowds: the crowds themselves become a subservient fact of the land. A lady with a bird tends to Minetta Green, the fisherman casts his rod, and undercover policemen share glances with my friend. These perfect Manhattanites are all but ordinary to me. They are the red roses and the white picket fences of this city.
