Luna Wang

“Detach” is a photography series that represents a vigilant exploration of the interplay between observation of myself and the surroundings. It incorporates the concept of Dualism, which is expressed through not just its tone and/or dark and light, but also the subject matter itself. Photography is a medium that functions paradoxically as it connects my body and mind yet, simultaneously, it separates them. Therefore, this project serves as a resonating tool that empowers me to express the urge to escape, discover, and cure myself and the close ones through doing and making photography. With an enriched selection and application of settings, the audience will be able to observe a balance of both statics/dynamics and darkness/brightness.
