“TO FIND SPACE” is an exploration of the idea of inner peace, using photography and moving images to record the moments where I find myself in such a state. In this project, I want to take a moment to be still and calm my mind, be aware of the movements of myself and the noticeable changes of my surroundings, enlarge my bodily sensation, and connect my breath with the air and energy around me. TO FIND SPACE is a series of performances recorded on video format that envisions the process of meditative gestures while focusing on my awareness of the present moment. By visualizing the concept of “mindfulness” through ceremonial ritual, the work guides viewers to stay sensible and conscious of the time and space I experienced in the practice.
