Ky Luquín

“All That I Know,” a photo series, visualizes the development of my sexual identity, relationship to the gender binary, and connection to my Mexican heritage through the interaction of symbolic still life imagery and self-portraiture. I use the studio as a blank canvas; the objects I include paint the picture of my personal story. The spectrum of black and white reflects my life as it has existed in the confines of gendered and sexual binaries, while each tone in between speaks to individual aspects and fluctuations of my identity. At the same time, my body becomes a vessel for longing and resistance.
