Kyrie Rogers
Situated in isolated natural environments in the Northeast and in Mexico, my portraits and self-portraits reflect on the connection between the feminine, nature, and my desire for the intertwining of both. Hair and bodies are metaphors for lesbian desire and self-creation; my photographs represent the rewriting of childhood narratives that have shaped my relationship toward my body and the bodies I desire. Hair represents my amplification of and devotion to the feminine, acting as a bridge between myself and women that I photograph. This project documents the unraveling of who I am, what I desire, and why.
Kyrie Rogers is a New York City–based photographer.
