Crucified aims to examine and challenge the binary that confines our expression of gender while
commemorating members of the trans community who have fallen victim to anti-trans violence.
What bodies do we, as a society, give the right to be called “natural,” and which ones do we deny the same privilege? Throughout history, our identification has resided in neat, preordained categories supported by the dominant gender paradigm and societal constructions. How does this history shape our contemporary beliefs?

This work provokes questions around the complex intersection of religion, identity, and the queer
community.
