In “Country Club Dr” the wealth of the homeowners is visible in scenes void of them. Opulent homes remain locked throughout the offseason, their grounds meticulously landscaped. A golf course so green you’d never guess that beyond the gates is a desert. While places like these are considered by many to be the pinnacle of the American dream, communities like East Hampton, New York, and Palm Desert, California, radiate an emptiness. “Country Club Dr” visualizes the intersection of personal privilege and loneliness, using the camera’s lens to project this feeling onto locations that caricature the socioeconomic status they represent.
