Photographing on the chaotic streets of Beijing and New York requires patience and luck; creating an archive is a process of slow accumulation. The archive aims to visually express the texture of the city, offering glimpses of the everyday lives of the subjects encountered. The parallel streams of image making that comprise this body of work are unified in its ultimate presentation: a book, which, through the juxtaposition of two metropolises, joins disparate urban landscapes in one narrative frame.

Ni Wang is a street photographer working between New York and Beijing.
