American Mythology is a photobook depicting multiple aspects of my personal experience and American popular culture through material artifacts, archives, and performance. From the unique vantage point of someone who is an insider and an outsider, this project unveils tropes of the US by exposing the proliferation of “hope” woven through the fabric of aesthetics, humor, camp, and the convergence of myth and reality. My stance is one of critique and affection.
