Britany Paez

As an artist growing up in New York, Britany Paez was immersed in the culture and the desire to be in the fashion editorial space. This project focuses on narrative stylistic expression. Envisioning the neighborhoods as the set, Paez creates a scene through collaboration with people of color who represent the vibrancy of New York.

She uses wheat paste paper on plywood, stickers, and metal to symbolize the reclaiming of space. The clothes themselves captivate through color and boldness. This ongoing series was constructed by her love for diverse youth, and as a big “fuck you” to Trump’s whitewashing policies.

Britany Paez (britflares) is a senior receiving her BFA in Photography at Parsons School of Design. As a first-generation Ecuadorian-American growing up in New York, she is driven by her surroundings and the fashion editorial space.
