Bronwen O’Connor
Sanctuary is an ongoing photographic series depicting women and queer people within bathroom spaces. The artist prints these photographs on individual pieces of silk organza, hand-sewn together to create an experiential presentation that is stylistically reminiscent of a shower curtain. The piece serves as a representation of community, safety, and ultimately, the sanctuary experienced within bathroom spaces by women and queer folks.
