Louis Cona
Endure and Persist examines interconnected feelings of depression and isolation, while touching on themes of mental health, internal conflict, loneliness, and forms of addiction. This work features a film that seeks peace and beauty despite the dark visual expression of these issues. It reflects the emptiness that consumes one’s mind and the personal growth required to navigate through depression and loneliness. This work is an abstract reflection on the artist’s past experiences and finding a healthy way to live with the problem rather than let it consume him-a meditation on personal growth and perseverance through dark times and loss of identity. This work finds peace and beauty within the disturbed and twisted visual expression of these themes brought to life.
Louis Cona, originally from Grand Cayman, is a multidisciplinary artist who primarily works with video and photography. His work takes an abstract approach to dark themes including mental health and internal conflict.
