Rocco (Quoc Anh) Ho
A Photographic Tableaux of Distant Memories explores Ho’s evolving relationship with Vietnamese cultural values and identity as an international student. Driven by nostalgia and an awareness of his privileged upbringing, the work reflects on Vietnamese identity within the individualistic Western context, especially in New York City. Through staged, cinematic photographs of rituals and gatherings, he recreates comforting memories of home, contrasted with intimate documentation from his visits to Vietnam. The series expresses his cultural pride and highlights familial ties and collectivism rooted in Vietnamese culture-an autobiographical meditation on values that continue to shape him wherever he goes.
Rocco (Quoc Anh) Ho is a Vietnamese photographer exploring identity, memory, and belonging through cinematic, emotional imagery shaped by his cultural roots as a Vietnamese living abroad.
