Janet Loves Me is a photographic project exploring the complicated relationship between the artist and her grandmother, and their starkly opposing political views. Expressing these generational tensions, the work includes portraits of the two—alone and together—taken in Janet’s Northeast Philadelphia home. Marked by its distinct 1960s decor, this domestic setting reveals a mix of photographs of family, dancers, actors, and right-wing politicians, all of whom Janet adores. Using color, tone, and mood, these images reflect the ever-changing dynamics of family connection and unconditional love.
