Maxis Amos-Flom

Reassembled Self is a photographic body of work that alters physical documents and personal archives to reclaim authorship over a history once defined by paperwork. This project explores Russian adoption papers by transforming the artist’s original records into visual works that question how identity is shaped by time. Reassembled Self highlights the ways in which such bureaucratic documentation shapes and distorts identity and memory, examining the gap between lived experience and official narrative. 

Maxis Amos-Flom (b. 2003, Novokuznetsk, Russia) is an artist based in New Jersey. He works with his personal archive to question how bureaucracy shapes identity, memory, and narrative.
