I investigate my inner child through art making. Particularly, a child’s natural closeness to the unconscious. Whether it is seeking for a sense of home through aimless wandering or engaging in experimental play, the subject of my photographs reveal hidden truths. My innocent attachment to nature is influential in my process, as it brings me back to the experience of spending time outside and creating imaginary worlds. In many of my works, I utilize the natural world through imagery and raw material. Sustainability and respect for the environment is an important part of my practice. Photography allows for moments that I would not have discovered otherwise be experienced as a still, unchanging image. Once the picture is made, it becomes fortified in the physical world. This happened and I have a picture to prove it.
